Brandon and Laurel first met while working at Austin Can! Academy. He was a social studies teacher and Laurel was the special education specialist. After a few years, Brandon left Austin to pursue his Ph.D. in political theory and while he was away, their friendship evolved into a long-distance romance. When Brandon returned to Austin, after so many years apart he was anxious to propose to the woman he couldn’t wait to spend the rest of his life with.
The couple’s wedding was held at the picturesque Mercury Hall in south Austin. They exchanged vows on a perfect summer day in Texas under a beautiful canopy of trees. After the ceremony, the evening’s festivities kicked off with the bride and groom’s first dance together. “You can just see how much he loves her by the way he looks at her” was overhead by a guest watching these two and witnessed by everyone who knows this adoring groom. After several heartfelt and hilarious toasts from their friends and family, there was a competitive vie for the bouquet and fortunately no one was injured 🙂 The reception continued with some crazy dance moves by the couple, whose infectious energy kept the dance party going all night long. After a few awesome conga lines the night sadly had to come to an end as friends and family bid adieu to this fun loving couple. Thanks for including us in your wedding day Laurel and Brandon we had a fantastic time and congratulations to you both!
