Wedding: Ellen and Antonio, Sterling Events Center, Austin, Tx

The best way to introduce Ellen and Antonio is to describe the most adorable proposal that Antonio planned for her during Homecoming at their alma mater, Tuskegee University. They met and started dating during their freshman year at the university so Antonio knew it was the perfect place to propose. Disguised as the tiger mascot during the halftime show, he surprised Ellen who was performing with the band by getting on one knee as he took off his mask with ring in hand and the rest is history.

Their wedding took place at the Sterling Events Center in Austin on the same weekend that hurricane Harvey swept through Texas. Over 5 inches of rain couldn’t dampen the spirits of their family and friends who braved the storms to celebrate this union. Ellen and Antonio are both scientists and performed a very unique ritual during their ceremony. Dressed in lab coats, they created a reaction by adding reagents to the chemicals their parents poured into a beaker before the ceremony started. This chemical reaction created a giant overflowing foam – the perfect symbol of their unity.

The reception was filled with a lot of excitement and sentiment. Antonio and his brother serenaded their teary eyed mom during the most heartfelt mother/son dance we’ve ever seen. The groom didn’t hold back when it was time for the garter toss.  A bold move by the Antonio who effortlessly took off Ellen’s garter with his teeth, although the groomsmen didn’t seem too keen on catching it, ha ha. Much like the hurricane rains, the party kept going strong all night with a packed dance floor until the moment we  bid adieu to the newlyweds. Congratulations Ellen & Antonio, thanks for including us in your fantastic wedding!
